The ‘Light on the Hill’ Appeal, 2024.

In 2024, we launched our latest appeal - comprised of two phases, this year we are fundraising for urgent masonry work. The next stage will aim to restore St John’s beautiful Victorian detailing, while updating the heating and lighting systems - safeguarding this sacred space for generations to come. If you are interested in learning more, please click here, or email our Development Officer Anna Dominey (sjnhrestoration@gmail.com) for more information.

Supporting Us

St John's, like other parishes of the Church of England, is entirely dependant on voluntary giving to meet our daily needs and expenses, as well as contribute to the mission of the Church in the Diocese of London. The Diocese of London is committed to maintaining its presence in every area of London, rich or poor. This is financed through the Common Fund, where parishes give according to their ability. The Common Fund commitment from St John's to the Diocese in 2024 is £88,000.

We encourage our regular worshippers to give by regular standing order, and Gift Aid if they are UK tax payers. You will find both of these forms for downloading via the link below.

The Church of England encourages Church members to give 5% (or £1 in £20) of their after tax income for the work of the Church.

The principles of life affirming giving are:

“Give Thanks, Give Regularly, Give Generously, and Give of Yourself.”

St John's is a registered charity, number: 1131808.

GIFT AID FORM

Please download a Gift Aid Declaration Form below. Gift Aid allows organisations with registered charity status (such as St John's) to claim back tax on donations. This is only applicable if the giver is a registered UK tax payer.

All single donations are welcome. Please send these to St John's address, along with a gift aid form, downloadable here:
